Psssssst! Hey, you guys! Ask us what we're doing this Friday.
No, really, just ask us.
Hmm? What's that? Oh, y'know, nothing much. Just making a visit to the set of "The Host" and putting your Twitter-submitted questions to Saoirse Ronan, Max Irons, and YA celebrity Stephenie Meyer herself! Oh, and what's this in our pocket? Hey, look at that: It's the EXCLUSIVE FIRST EVER teaser poster for the movie! Yep! Just a typical, totally average day at the officeeeeeeeeeeaaaaahhhh OHMIGOD THE EXCITEMENT WE CANNOT STAND IT.
Yep, you read correctly: This Friday, MTV News will be headed to the seeeeecret secret location where alien parasite love story "The Host" is being filmed, where we'll be delivering an exclusive behind-the-scenes missive from the set of this hotly anticipated sci-fi romance. And while we're there, we'll be chatting it up with Saoirse, Max and Stephenie—getting all the dirty details about how production is going so far, and asking them all your most burning-est questions about the film! Which means that now is your moment to run—RUN!—in the direction of Twitter, and tell us what you want to know using the @mtvnews handle and #MTVHost hashtag!
...Oh, but then come right back, because here comes our exclusive look at the first movie poster. And get ready to be amazed, because there's a glowing eyeball and ominous message involved! And between all the exclusive goodies coming our way from the studio, plus the hotly anticipated performance of the uber-talented Saoirse in the host/parasite dual role, plus Max Irons and his glorious cheekbones, the fact that "The Host" isn't coming out for nearly a year will not deter us—or you—from being so excited for this movie that every time we think about it, we make a tiny squealing noise.
(Eeeeeeeeeee!)
What would you ask Stephenie and the stars of "The Host"?

She's the woman whose pen gave birth to the love triangle that would become a driving force in the lives of so many teenagers (TWILIGHT!) and now she brings us another story set to grip a generation when the big-screen adaption of The Host hits theatres next March.
But that's a year from now and having you wait, without even a glimpse of the sci-fi/romance tale, is too cruel. Thanks to the good people at eOne, we have a Canadian EXCLUSIVE first-look photo of the lovely Saoirse Ronan who plays Melanie Stryder, one of the only rebel humans left after an alien race known as Souls have descended on Earth, inhabiting bodies like a virus and overtaking human thoughts and emotions. Ronan's piercing blue peepers easily give off an other-worldly vibe and are well-suited to the adage that the eyes are the windows to the soul.
The Host, directed by Andrew Niccol (In Time, Gattaca) also stars Diane Kruger, Max Irons, Jake Abel, William Hurt and Frances Fisher.

Mods I think we need new tags, jsyk
Hunger Games fans who flock to theaters this weekend will also get a sneak peek at a very different kind of love triangle.
A teaser trailer for The Host, the film adaptation of the 2008 sci-fi romance novel by Twilight author Stephenie Meyer, will unspool before The Hunger Games begins.
"It's kind of an alien love story," director Andrew Niccol tells PEOPLE in this week's issue, which features an exclusive first look at the film, due March 29, 2013.
Irish actress Saoirse Ronan plays Melanie, one of the world's last remaining free spirits. As an alien named Wanderer assumes control of Melanie's soul, Melanie's remaining emotions still draw her to a handsome human named Jared (Max Irons).
Rounding out the cast: Diane Kruger, who plays Seeker, an alien sent to regulate the takeover of Earth's population.
Author Meyer is a producer on the film, but Twihards take note: vampires and werewolves are nowhere to be seen in The Host.

Today, a movie banner and a great new contest for The Host - the book-to-film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's sci-fi novel of the same name - were unveiled on Meyer's website.
The contest, which is being run through the Official The Host Facebook page, offers fans the chance to win a photographic appearance in the first trailer for the film. To enter, fans are asked to take a picture of themselves which meets certain criteria (including cropping and size requirements) and e-mail it in to Contest@TheHostTheFilm.com.
Also on the new Facebook page, a plot synopsis for the movie was posted as follows:
THE HOST is a riveting story about the survival of love and the human spirit in a time of war. Our world has been invaded by an unseen enemy. Humans become hosts for these invaders, their minds taken over while their bodies remain intact. Most of humanity has succumbed.
Sounds about right, doesn't it?
Production began on The Host this week. Filming locations for the project include New Mexico and Louisiana. The Host hits theaters on March 29th, 2013.
